Brochure: Healthy Wallet

Here’s a brochure we created for Elham Menhaji’s Healthy Wallet coaching business. Our goal was to use clean, tidy copy and colors to explain what her business does, and include her rates. We kept the colors and images consistent with her Web site.

We used Apple Pages to layout and design the brochure, and VistaPrint to print it.

Book & CD: Red Hot Customer Service

Lis Calandrino’s book Red Hot Customer Service: 35 Sizzling Ways to Heat Up Your Business and Ignite Your Sales was published in August 2009. We took Lis’s rough draft and, over the course of 10 months, got it into a polished, published format, and shipped 1,000 copies.

RHCS

Since Lis is a voiceover artist as well, she came up with the idea to include a CD with the book, which we produced. She recorded her “10 Rules for Red Hot Customer Service” at a studio and sent us the tracks, which we finalized by adding music and breaks. We designed the CD and oversaw the publishing process.

10 Rules

The book is excellent, the CD is very informative, and there’s no one more capable of guiding a business to better customer satisfaction than Lis.

Video: Freihofer’s Run for Women Promo Video

Here’s a video we created earlier this year for the Freihofer’s Run for Women, an elite 5k race held annually in Albany, NY.

I used my Canon Powershot SD1000 to capture the interviews, then a JVC handheld with stabilizers while I was on the press truck in front of the runners. Two team members provided additional footage — one positioned among the runners and another at the start/finish line. After jumping off the press truck at the end I positioned myself behind the finish line as well, which is why we’re able to have two angles of women coming in.

I edited the footage on my iMac using iMovie, and mixed together Coldplay’s Life in Technicolor 1 and Life in Technicolor 2 using Garage Band to round out the video.

Here’s an extended version that captures the kids’ race.

Hope you enjoy.

Web: Lisbeth Calandrino

Launched the sumer of 2009, Lisbeth Calandrino is the Web site of, you guessed it, Lisbeth Calandrino, a professional speaker and published author who works closely with us at blue.0. We launched Lis’s official blog on Typepad in 2008, and then launched this new site to promote her book and brand: Red Hot Customer Service.

Web: Integrated Bodies

Integrated Bodies is a Rolfing business owned and operated by Moira Mills, of Albany, NY. We’ve known Moira for a while and actually put up her earlier site — which we won’t go into here. That’s how bad it was. But a couple years and some new tricks learned, we feel the next version is a good representation of her professionalism and ability as a body worker.

Integrated Bodies

Moira’s a big fan of the Cleveland Browns. Or at least of their team colors, so we went with a burnt orange background. We’re running on WordPress using a theme by iThemes.

We also added links to Moira’s interviews in local newspapers and embedded a video of her interview on T.V.

The site’s feature photos were taken by Michael Eldredge of Living Fiction Photography.

Web: Freihofer’s Run for Women blog

Leading up to the 2009 Freihofer’s Run for Women 5k, we integrated a blog into the race’s Web site and have since been writing, posting, and spreading the world to help build excitement for the 2010 race. One challenge was to duplicate the Web site that the race’s PR firm, Rueckert Advertising, designed, so that the switch between the Web site and the blog would appear seamless. We took a WordPress theme called Elements of SEO, gutted it, and then added elements from the Web site so that the look and feel were essentially the same between the two sites.

Freihofer's Run for Women blog

The blog was set up as a sub domain of the main site, so it helps with search engine rankings. In fact, the blog comes up page 1 in Google when you use several search terms related to running.

One downside is that owing to the extreme customization we did with the theme design, there are a couple glitches when you view the blog in Internet Explorer 7. The blog looks fine in IE 8 as well as all other browsers (Safari, Firefox, etc.), so this is something we’re keeping an eye on with future releases.

Web: Treasure Chest Foods

We recently launched Treasure Chest Foods, a door-to-door seafood and meat delivery business operated by Matt Wakelin of Clifton Park, NY.

Matt was looking for a Web site that would help customers in the Capital Region find him and be able to schedule deliveries. The site is running on WordPress using a design by WooThemes. To help add personality to the site, we wrote some articles highlighting different aspects of Matt’s business.
